For those born with this condition, any vision loss present at birth doesn\u2019t worsen over time.<\/p>\n<h2><b>What are the signs and symptoms of ocular albinism?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Because of the lack of pigmentation in the eyes, individuals with ocular albinism will experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Iris of the eyes appear pinkish or very light color<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Extreme light sensitivity (photophobia)<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Involuntary rapid eye movements (nystagmus)<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Mild to moderate central vision loss<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Poor binocular vision (strabismus)<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Reduced depth perception<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Head tilt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Low vision aids for ocular albinism<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>There are many types of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/low-vision\/guide-to-low-vision-magnifiers\/\">low vision aids<\/a> and low vision glasses to improve the lives of those with ocular albinism.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Since each aid assists with different tasks, a person with low vision will benefit from multiple low vision glasses and devices.<\/p>\n<p>While people with ocular albinism experience central vision loss, they have excellent side vision.
