Probably not great!<\/p>\n<p><strong>However, when you combine all of these items into a hamburger &#8211; together they become one of life\u2019s most delicious treats!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><b>What do hamburgers have to do with vision therapy?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Dr. Nancy Torgerson, together with the surgeon Dr. Thomas Lenart, reports that when combining <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/vision-therapy\/\">vision therapy<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/childrens-vision\/a-guide-to-eye-turns\/strabismus-crossed-eyes\/strabismus-surgery\/\"> strabismus (eye turn) surgery<\/a> the results improve the clinical outcomes in many cases.<\/p>\n<p><b>This \u2018hamburger\u2019 approach might consist of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/vision-therapy\/\">vision therapy<\/a> before surgery to optimize sensory readiness for motor fusion, and\/or after the surgery to stabilize or safeguard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/vision-therapy-for-lazy-eye\/lazy-eyes-need-binocular-vision-therapy\/\">binocular vision<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To date there have been isolated case reports in the literature on using sandwich approaches of combining optometric vision therapy to provide a more optimized outcome of strabismus surgery.<\/p>\n<p>As an example, Northwest Eye Surgeons posts on its website: <i>\u201cThe goal of strabismus treatment is to improve eye alignment so that the eyes work together (binocular vision).
