But, the eyes are very complex, and deeper and more comprehensive tests can be provided by specific eye doctors.<\/p>\n<p><b>Binocular vision tests are conducted by certain eye doctors and go beyond the 20\/20 sight test.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is binocular vision?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Binocular vision is the process by which the brain integrates information from a person\u2019s two eyes to generate one clear unified image.<\/p>\n<p><b>Binocular vision is essential for optimal academic performance.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Binocular vision problems, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/vision-therapy\/vision-therapy-for-children\/convergence-insufficiency-2\/top-7-faqs-on-convergence-insufficiency\/\">convergence insufficiency,<\/a> can affect a child&#8217;s ability to complete visual tasks in the classroom from an early age.<\/p>\n<p><b>Lazy eye: <\/b>Binocular vision dysfunction also affects children with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/vision-therapy\/vision-therapy-for-lazy-eye\/lazy-eye-faqs\/\">amblyopia (lazy eye)<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/childrens-vision\/a-guide-to-eye-turns\/strabismus-crossed-eyes\/strabismus-faqs\/\">strabismus (eye turn)<\/a>, as they are unable to use both eyes efficiently as a team.<\/p>\n<p><b>Head injury: <\/b>Binocular vision problems can also occur in adults as a result of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/vision-therapy\/neuro-optometry\/vision-and-brain-injuries\/retraining-the-brain-post-concussion\/\">concussion<\/a> or other type of traumatic brain damage, a stroke, or an eye turn caused by nerve palsy.<\/p>\n<h2><b>What are the signs of a binocular vision problem?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Without the ability to easily fuse the images that the two eyes send to the brain into a single image, individuals with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/general-practice-optometry\/guide-to-binocular-visual-dysfunction\/\">binocular vision dysfunction<\/a> may
