Dry or gritty feeling in your eyes<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>If your eyes are feeling gritty, dry or itchy, you may be experiencing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/general-practice-optometry\/guide-to-eye-conditions\/dry-eye\/\">dry eye symptoms.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dry eye symptoms are more prevalent in dry climates or polluted air. Watery eyes<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Though it seems counterintuitive, eyes that won\u2019t stop watering can also be a symptom of dry eye syndrome. If your eyes aren\u2019t staying properly lubricated, they can begin to produce an excess of tears in an attempt to compensate.<\/p>\n<p><b>Watery eyes can occur when your tears lack sufficient oil to prevent evaporation.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As with other dry eye symptoms, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optometrists.org\/general-practice-optometry\/guide-to-eye-conditions\/dry-eye\/guide-to-eye-drops\/\">over-the-counter eye drops<\/a> may be able to help temporarily but don\u2019t treat the underlying condition.<\/p>\n<p>If symptoms persist, you should consult your eye doctor.<\/p>\n<h2><b>9.
